简介：StuGordon,nsideredamasterofthehorrorgenrethankstoclassicslikeRe-AnimatorandDagon,decidestodoadifferentmoveinthisstrangetriptohumanmorals."KingoftheAnts"isaboutaregularguy,SeanCrawley(newerChrisMcKenna),amanwithoutanyaspirationwhojustliveinhisapmentdoingthenecessaryjobtolivetothenextday.InoneofhisjobshemeetsDuke(GeargeWendt),whointroducesSeantohisboss,RayMatthews(playedbyDanielBaldwin).RayhiresSeanasaspy,andordershimtofollowEricGatlin(RoyLivingstone),anaountantwhohasbeeninvestigatingRay'spany.ProblemsstwhenRay,whiledrunk,ordersSeantokillEric.Andhedoesit.ThingsgowrongwhenRaydecidestomakeSeandisappeardestroyinghismindwithviolentpunishmentandhumiliation.FromthepointwhereSeankillsEric,wegointhesameboatwithhim,ashegoesthroughadownwardspiralofhumandegradation,travelingfromguilt,tonfusionandfinallytohisrebirth,inastatewherehumanity,moralsandvaluesarenotimportantanymore.ChrisMcKennaactingisveryimportantbecausehemanagestobelikableevenwhenheispofgruesomeacts,bothasvictimand/orcriminal.Hehasthatlookofinnocencethathidesadarksideandhemanagestocarrythefilm.ThesupportcastalsoincludesKariWuhrer,asEric'swidowwhoalsobeesacentralpofSean'striptohell.Shegivesafineperformance,althoughit'sobviousthatSeanisthemaincharacter.HeisthemostdevelopedofallandMcKenna'sperformanceisuptothechallenge.Thefilmhasverydisturbingimagesofviolence,andwhileitmaynotbeasgraphicas"KillBill"forexample,thestrengthoftheviolenceisinthelackofhumanitythatthecharactermanifest.Heismorethananantinthisworld.Heistheking.StuGordonhasmanagedtocreateafilmthat,whilemaybeit'snotoneofhisbestefforts;it'sverywelldone,hasaVERYinterestingstorytotell,andmanagestocapturetheattentioneverysendofit.
